In the early 90s, Jeannie attended Miami Dade College and studied jazz guitar with the late Mario Trane. Trane studied with Joe Diorio and Joseph Iadone - and frequently played with Ira Sullivan et al. In 1997, she obtained an Associate of Arts degree in music after transferring to Santa Fe College. During this time, Jeannie played with the George Sand Trio on guitar a few nights a week at locations such as The High Note jazz club and The Heritage Club. She also played upright bass with Frank Sullivan at The Flemming, at various on-call gigs in the area, and in the University of Florida Orchestra. In the past decade, Jeannie played guitar with The South Florida Pride Jazz Ensemble big band and studied guitar with Tom Lippincott in Hollywood FL. In Seattle, Jeannie has played guitar with Girl's Ellington Project through Seattle Jazz Ed, various gigs with local musicians Charles Williams and Tom Cole. Jeannie has also played with Jazz Night School groups at end-of-season concerts on both guitar and trumpet. Currently, Jeannie is enjoying playing and learning the trumpet with guidance from the likes of Jared Hall and Jim Sisko. She enjoys giving back to the jazz community in hopes of doing her part to keep jazz alive.
